On Your Wedding Day
You've dreamed about your wedding day for your whole life. You've put a great deal of time and effort into planning your day, your way. You want it to be unique. Special. One of a kind. Your dream day.
As a specialist wedding DJ, I've developed my service offering over time to best suit my clients' needs - needs that a general-purpose DJ or entertainer will most likely be unaware of.
I'm here to service those needs - adding a special touch to any wedding celebration.
One of the first things I realised was that music can be used in many ways to add to the emotion and atmosphere of any wedding day.
Below I've highlighted some of the ways in which I regularly help my clients make the most of their wedding entertainment budget.
However this is only a guide and I'm always open to new ideas and suggestions. It's YOUR Big day.
The Wedding Ceremony
A totally discrete high quality Bose PA system, Gentle background music of your choice to help settle the guests, the volume increased dramatically to announce the entrance of the bride and then pulled back gradually and timed to perfection for her arrival at the groom's side.
Microphones available if required for the larger ceremony so that everyone can hear the proceedings clearly and at a sensible
volume.
Further background music of your choice during the signing of the register.
As the Registrar concludes the ceremony and the Bride and Groom leave, a round of applause from the guests, Your choice of song-fading gently away as the last of the guests leaves the ceremonial room.
The Drinks Reception
An experienced MC can quickly and unobtrusively co-ordinate a receiving line, giving everyone the opportunity to kiss the bride and shake hands with the groom and their parents.
Background-level music of the couple's choice can be playing to add some ambience to the moment, and as guests relax and start to converse, the style of music can be changed to suit the age groups present, the season, whatever you wish.
If you've arranged other entertainment for this portion of the day - string quartets and solo guitarists/vocalists are very popular - then I can "fill in" around their sets, expertly choosing the music to blend into the start of their performance or pick up where they left off.
Above all, the right music choices and a confident, experienced MC can contribute enormously towards a chilled-out and relaxed afternoon.
The Wedding Breakfast
Many venues offer the facility to play back CDs or plug in an ipod, but by and large the systems we've seen are fairly basic.
Background music to settle the crowd whilst they are being seated played via a high-quality and discrete Bose PA system carefully
tucked away means that the whole room can hear at a sensible volume.
When it's time to announce your entrance, I will fade the music gradually whilst politely and confidently getting everyone's
undivided attention.
Your entrance will then be announced using a pre-agreed speech to rapturous applause with your guests respectfully standing.
If your speeches occur prior to eating, I will also co-ordinate these and provide radio microphones, if required.
Otherwise it`ll be a return to background-level music of your own choosing during dinner and co-ordination of speeches afterwards.
